INTRODUCTION TO GERMANOPRATIN’S CONCEPT AND VISION
The first edition of Germanopratin, held from October 18–22, 2024, at the Hôtel de l'Industrie in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris, celebrated art, design, and French culture. Spanning two floors, the event created a dynamic dialogue between past and present styles.
Born from Olivier Chetail’s vision of blending antique and modern furniture, Germanopratin showcased how contrasting styles and eras can breathe new life into interiors.
The first floor featured Grands Styles, curated by Olivier Chetail and Galerie Armel Soyer. This enfilade apartment combined 17th- and 18th-century French decorative arts with contemporary works by emerging and established talents. Pieces ranged from antique mirrors and bronze jardinières to modern creations, contributed by renowned antique dealers and galleries like Franck Baulme and Galerie Pla.
On the second floor, the exhibition expanded with contributors such as Galerie BSL, which fused art and design, and Jean-Yves Lanvin, who displayed bold, mineral-inspired creations. Parsa, led by Shiva Shayan and Thomas Vlach, showcased furniture merging Iranian stone with innovative craftsmanship.
